FAQ

The answers here come from questions the product already answers on its own pages: the contact page, the JOEY Virtual Machine help page, the dealer group page, the training page and the pricing data. Where two of those pages disagree, this page says which one it follows and why.

About JOEY

What is JOEY?

JOEY is an AI sales assistant built for car salespeople. It works your leads around the clock so each customer gets a fast, personal reply by text, email and call, follow-ups do not slip, and your CRM stays clean. Think of it as a tireless teammate that handles the repetitive outreach while you close deals on the floor. How JOEY works has the full picture.

Who is JOEY for?

The individual salesperson who wants to be the top performer at the store. If you have lost a sale because you could not get back to a lead fast enough, or gone home with 30 customers still owed a follow-up, JOEY is for you. It gives one rep the output of a whole team.

Is JOEY a CRM?

No. JOEY is a personal sales assistant. It acts on your dealership records inside the CRM your store already uses, handling texts, emails, call prep and follow-up, and the CRM stays the system of record.

Which CRMs does JOEY work with?

JOEY works with any CRM. DriveCentric and Tekion have the deepest support today, VinSolutions is being added now, and any CRM a dealer asks for gets supported free of charge. DriveCentric is the CRM the rest of this site describes. Until your CRM's dedicated integration lands, JOEY works as a standalone browser sidekick alongside it, and each store keeps its own CRM as the system of record. See Connecting DriveCentric.

Will JOEY sound like me, or like a robot?

Like you. During setup you tell JOEY your tone, your sign-off, your greeting, the things you would never say, and your specialties. Each message is written in your voice for that customer, and you can review or adjust how JOEY communicates at any time.

Will AI replace car salespeople?

No. The customer still wants a person. JOEY makes one salesperson far more productive, so the good reps win more.

Getting set up

How do I sign up, and when does JOEY start working?

Sign up at getjoey.app/signup with your name, dealership and email. Every new account can start on the free plan with no card and no trial clock. JOEY begins sending on your behalf once your CRM connection is active. Our team finishes that connection during onboarding, so there is a gap between submitting the signup form and the first send. Getting started lists the nine onboarding steps.

Do I need my dealership or manager to approve it first?

JOEY is built for you, the individual rep, and you can sign up on your own. JOEY works inside your dealership CRM and follows your store rules, so if your dealership requires sign-off before a tool connects to the CRM, give your manager a heads up. Many reps start on their own leads and bring it to the team once they see results.

How long does setup take?

Your account and dashboard are yours the moment you sign up, and you can set your voice and schedule right away. Our team finishes the CRM connection during onboarding and provisions a hosted JOEY Virtual Machine by hand after you join early access; there is no published timeline for either. This site does not promise a same-day start.

Modes of operation

Which modes exist, and which can I pick today?

JOEY has two modes of operation. The JOEY Virtual Machine (VPS) runs JOEY on hosted hardware time set aside for your account; it is the mode available today, selected by default, in early access. The Chrome extension runs inside Chrome on your own computer; it is under development, coming out soon, and cannot be selected yet. See Setup: run mode (VPS) and Setup: the Chrome extension.

Do I need my computer on?

No. Once the JOEY Virtual Machine is live for your account, JOEY runs on hosted hardware, and it targets a 24/7 duty cycle.

What does the JOEY Virtual Machine cost?

$39 per month as an add-on. It is included with plans of $500 per month and up. Limited-time promotion: until September, every plan has VPS access at no extra charge.

Is my CRM login shared with anyone?

No. You type your DriveCentric login yourself, into the Credentials vault or into the VPS through the remote viewing tool. It is encrypted the moment you save it and fetched only when the hosted runner needs it, over an encrypted connection. It is never logged, and no one at MADITECH, including support, can read it back.

Does JOEY send messages to customers on its own?

Both modes, the JOEY Virtual Machine and the Chrome extension, run automatically. You pick draft-only, where JOEY drafts and you send, or auto-send with review, and every mode is human-supervised because the terms require you to watch the screen during the hours you schedule JOEY to run. Live sending on a hosted runner stays locked until our team signs it off for your account, and it is never something you can flip on yourself. A JOEY provisioned for the first time starts in shadow mode with autopilot off: it works the list and sends nothing. Once live sending is enabled, the dashboard counts messages sent by JOEY apart from the ones you send yourself, so you can see which is which. The same suppression rules apply either way: coworker notes and opt-outs are respected, and quiet hours hold.

Plans and billing

What are the plans?

PlanMonthlyDaily textsDaily emailsDialer calls per day
Free$0252520
Green Pea$15010010050
Pro$200UnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimited
Pro Beast$500UnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimited
Concierge$1,000UnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimited

Free carries the same feature list as Green Pea; upgrading buys capacity rather than features. Pro adds the Beast Mode dialer, CPV (CRM Pro View), an analytics dashboard and phone support. Pro Beast runs the same JOEY on dedicated inference capacity with a priority queue. Concierge adds a dedicated account manager plus real-world help, including vehicle delivery and driver dispatch. Enterprise is a custom-priced conversation for multi-rooftop groups. Plans and limits has the detail, including annual and one-time pricing.

What does "unlimited" mean?

In the product's own footnote: unlimited means no daily usage cap. Fair-use rate limits and the safety guards every plan runs under (quiet hours, suppression, and one active sender) still apply.

Is there a guarantee, and how do I cancel?

Paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee: pay, get full access, and if it is not working for you within 30 days you are refunded in full. The pricing data names Pro as the plan the guarantee covers, while the contact page describes it for paid plans in general; if that distinction matters to your decision, ask before you buy at lucky@maditech.group. You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, charges for a period are final, and there is no long-term contract and no cancellation fee.

Is training included?

Plans at $200 per month and above include three training sessions covering the JOWI tool, the JOEY system and your own account configuration. You have to complete Session 1 within your first 7 days of onboarding or it is forfeited; sessions 2 and 3 have no hard deadline, and each allows two reschedules. Priority phone support is a separate benefit on the same plans. Training is optional. See getjoey.app/training.

Compliance and privacy

Is JOEY compliant with TCPA and opt-out rules?

Compliance is built in. JOEY sends a clear opt-in request before texting, honours quiet hours, and stops the moment a customer replies STOP or asks not to be contacted. An opt-out takes effect at once and stays in force across text and calls. Coverage: States and Compliance has the guardrails in detail.

Which states does JOEY cover?

Fifteen US states today: Washington, California, Oregon, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Nevada and Arizona, plus the Vancouver, Canada market. Outside that list, treat JOEY as coming soon.

What happens to my data, and is it private?

Your data is yours. JOEY uses your lead and customer information only to do the work you ask it to do: the outreach and the CRM logging that goes with it. MADITECH does not sell your data and does not share your customer lists with other reps or dealerships. You can request deletion at any time, and the privacy page on getjoey.app describes how information is handled.

Dealer groups

Does JOEY support multiple rooftops under one dealer group?

Yes. Each rooftop runs as its own JOEY tenant with its own dashboard, persona and schedule, and you deploy the same setup store by store.

Is data isolated between stores?

Yes. Deals, appointments and send data are scoped to each store's own tenant. One store cannot see or touch another store's leads or pipeline.

How is pricing structured for a group?

The published plans are per salesperson. A multi-rooftop rollout is a custom build that sales scopes and quotes with you; the online plans do not cover it. See getjoey.app/dealer-groups.
